Your microphone and the meeting audio are saved as separate files while you talk. The app shows whether each one hears sound and how much has been saved. A mixed copy for playback is made after the meeting.

Transcription waits until you press Stop. Then Parakeet, a speech model you download once, turns the recording into text on your own computer. It understands 25 European languages.
How long it takes depends on the recording and your hardware. No transcription service hears a second of it.

The meeting stays on your computer.
Audio is saved as ordinary WAV files and transcripts in a local database, all in one folder on your computer. The network is used for the speech model download, license activation and validation, and update checks. Exporting or pasting a transcript somewhere else is your choice.

Does a bot join my meeting?
No. JesRecap captures your microphone and the audio your computer plays. There is no extra participant or meeting plugin. Tell participants before recording and follow the consent rules that apply to you.
When do I get the transcript?
After you press Stop, Parakeet transcribes the recording on your computer. Processing takes time, depending on the recording and your hardware. During recording, separate indicators show sound detection and saved audio for each source.
Does it write summaries or identify speakers?
No. JesRecap does not detect speakers or write summaries. You type speaker names yourself and write your own notes. Summary and Action items copy a prompt with your transcript for an AI tool you choose. Whatever you paste there follows that tool's privacy practices.
Can I use it offline?
Recording and transcription run locally once the speech model is downloaded. Trial activation and validation require an internet connection. A paid license allows up to 30 days between successful online validations. Downloads and update checks also use the network.
How does the 48-hour trial work?
Download JesRecap, then verify your email with a six-digit code in the app. The trial begins when verification succeeds. No payment card is needed. After 48 hours, recording requires a license; your saved meetings stay on your computer.
Which computers are supported?
macOS 14.2 or later on Apple Silicon, and Windows 10 or 11 on x64. There is no Linux build. Check the downloads page for the currently available release and platform requirements.
